This is a wonderful tea shop that also maintains a historic garden surrounding it. My friends and I were walking by when the owner ran out and invited us in, even though they were closed.
She and her husband then treated us so well and shared a lot about the tea house and the surrounding area; the house itself is historic and has lots of cool artefacts in it including the cups which were made during occupied Japan and a huge calligraphy tapestry written by the head of the very first Japanese delegation to the USA.
The tea is all hand-made and the owner makes at least some of it specialty from the plants in their own garden that she feels is healthy for the body, so truly a unique tea. The tea itself was delicious and very reasonably priced, and came with a free local snack.

インテリアはレトロな洋風のテーブルと椅子。 そこにJAZZが流れていてなんとも心地よい。
夏なのに冷房がなくても風通しが良く昔の日本の夏を感じられる。
小さい子を3人連れて行きましたが、とても自由にさせて下さりました。
オーナーの奥様も凛とした感じのとても素敵な方です。
今回は雨で苗木城に行けませんでしたが、次回は苗木城とセットで行きたいと思います!
