The food was excellent. We ordered the grilled rockfish, noodles and tempura with rice. The rockfish was fresh and there was no fishy taste at all. It was served with vegetables like long beans and celery which was delicious! There were also mushrooms which were chewy and good. The noodles were served with an Onsen egg and some assorted vegetables. The tempura was crispy and topped with some tempura sauce, it was very tasty! Hope to come back again for another meal!

A small shop within the Suganama Gassho village. To our surprise the food was amazing, NOT a tourist trap at all. Large portions of iwa fish cooked in different styles- sashimi, grilled, simmered. You name it. The only thing is the preparation time is a bit long, but I'd say it's worth the wait!

Good place for trying out local set meal and getting local gift from this restaurant and gift shop. Operating daily from 9am - 5pm. Tried their Gokayama set meal - ¥2300yen which is a tasty and pretty big portion. Ideal for family, friends or solo traveller to drop by for a meal or snack.
