三九みつまた — Restaurant in Nara

My partner was looking for a special place to surprise me with a nice dinner, and we found this lovely Izakaya in Nara. The surroundings might not look particularly fancy, but the place is actually very cozy inside, and the service was impeccable. The host stayed close to us through the whole dinner and took the time to research all the dish ingredients in English for us.

We picked the 10K yen closed menu, which included a total of 8 dishes (including dessert), and was more than satisfying. The sashimi was without a doubt one of the best we've ever tried, with really fresh cuts and wasabi. We also tried the typical sake from Nara, which we loved as it's very soft and fragrant, unlike other sakes we tried before.

先日、日頃から親しくさせていただいている荷主様との接待で、奈良の「三九みつまた」さんを利用させていただきました。

お店はその方の地元の駅前にあり、普段はご夫婦でもよく来店されるということで、以前から気になっていたお店です。予約必須の人気店で、お値段は決して安価ではありませんが、その価値を遥かに上回る素晴らしいひとときを味わわせていただきました。

私は普段から何でも美味しくいただける方ですが、こちらのお料理は一品一品に店主のひと工夫が感じられ、どれも記憶に残る美味しさでした。出汁の香りでしょうか、店内に漂う香りにも食欲をそそられました。

明るく温かい笑顔の店主は、人柄も素晴らしく、従業員への接し方も丁寧で穏やか。その雰囲気がスタッフの皆さんにも自然と伝わっていて、接客もとても心地よいものでした。

私は現在、京都府に単身赴任中ですが、四半期に一度は必ずこの「三九みつまた」さんで至福の時間を楽しみたいと思っています。
