BORAGE — Restaurant in Nasu

Amazing authentic Italian in Nasu, one of the best Italians I've had in Japan. This was our second time visiting BORAGE and it doesn't disappoint. You get a friendly welcome & the restaurant is very stylish, with big open windows surrounded by the forest. For dinner you can pick a course with either 1 or 2 main dishes (Pizza or pasta plus a meat dish) - we picked the 1 dish course which is incredible value at ¥3,500 per person. It came with soup, bread, fresh anti-pasti, main, coffee and desert, and all of it was delicious.

All the pasta is all freshly made and the chef's were trained in Italy, which all comes across in the taste. Highlights were my aubergine tortellini, magherita pizza, the courgette flower on the anti-pasti & the panna cotta. Decent food. The service is great. They do not have English menus but will try their best to communicate the dishes for you. The setting is cosy and beautiful with views of the woods outside.

The food can be on the pricey side thus lunch sets provides more value for money. They goes for 1600 to 2400 JPY with salad, main course (can be pasta, pizza and meat dishes) , appetizers and drink.
