浜作 — Restaurant in Nemuro

This is a very local restaurant, the entrance is a bit hidden and you need to look carefully, but this also adds a sense of excitement and mystery. When you enter the restaurant, you can feel the warm hospitality of the waiters, and there are also extremely delicious crab dishes. If you like sake, you can also try some very good sake here. By the way, the menu here is handwritten, very Japanese-style, I really like it, the only worry is that Google Translate cannot translate the menu, so I directly use pictures to order, and the waiter will also recommend delicious dishes very thoughtfully. Easily one of my best dinners in my travels around Japan. My hotel recommended it and although we had a huge barrier language (the handwritten menu can't be translated), we were able to request through some photos and the products from the counter. All the fish is amazing, a delicious sea urchin, the deer tongue has to be tasted, too. But best of all how kind the staff is....

月曜日夜に一人で伺いました。

店に入ると、まずは鉢に盛られている料理に目が奪われる。五品の中からぶり大根を選び「中生を」と女将さんに告げる。

黒板に書かれた品書きを確認する。

…あぶらぼうず……？深海魚？ 「あーそれは福岡の方に行くとハタとして出されることもある白身の魚です」 店主と思われる男性から、今日は西京漬けにしたんですよと言われて、これを注文。

「どっからいらっしゃったの？」と女将さん。 あぁ、一見さんとの距離の取り方は微妙なものなのだろうと思うけれども、ごく自然な素直な心地よい声のかけ方ですね。。 今は根室で生活しているけれども、育ちは夕張の地区だと話したくれた。

釧路から乗車したディーゼル電車の感想を話すと「ありがと、汽車は廃線の危機だから、乗ってくれると嬉しいわぁ」と軽く頭を下げる。 初対面の私にさえ女将さんは素直に色んなことを明るくお話をされ、嬉しく、つい嬉しさがにじみ出た目で見てしまった。

電車での移動中、何度か鹿の群れが線路に入って徐行したり、止められたりした話をしていたら、女将さんは「だって、元々鹿が住んでいたところに、線路引いたり街作っちゃったりしたんだから…」と、鹿の立場を思いはかる。 薄情な私は、google-mapに書き込んまれていた「鹿のタン焼きはぜひ頼んで」という書き込みを思い出し、めげずに頼む。

出てきた一品は、牛や豚のタンとそれほど違いを感じなかったが、旅情がそれを極上の一品だと思わせた。

夜、風は収まっていたが、今日の昼間は風を強く感じた。 「いつもよりずいぶん早く回っているよー」と風力発電の風車を見て言っていたタクシードライバーの声を思い出しながら、杯は進んで行った。

日本の北東端の街は、なんて心が豊かな人達が住んでいるところなんだろう。 私は、この街に沈没してしまっても言いかもしれな...
