We stopped at this rest area on the way to Nikko. There are toilets, convenience store and food here. It was pleasant and we could see the snow capped mountains in the distance.

日光宇都宮有料道路のパーキングエリアの売店飲食コーナーです。上り線側にもありますがこちらは日光に向かう下り線側です。本来は自動車で来る場所ですが、歩きなら一般道から入場することもできました。 軽食類もありますが食事は蕎麦メインです。今回は舞茸そばとゆば唐揚を注文、タルタルはつけるがどうか聞いてくれました。 そばの麺は「生そば」となっています。手打ちがどうかはわかりませんが蕎麦切りは不揃い。この麺とシンプルだけど優しい風味のつゆが身体を温めてくれます。以前ここで食べた「きのこ汁」を思い出した。優しいつゆの感じがよく似ていて美味しいんですよ。一口サイズの舞茸の天ぷらがゴロゴロと乗っていて、風味と食感がよくやっぱり舞茸は美味いです。 ゆばはヘルシーな大豆製品なんだけど唐揚げになると軽い味つけと油の風味とボリュームもあいまってかなり食べごたえがありました。
