A Taste of History with Perfect Tempura Near Obihiro Station

I visited this fantastic local restaurant, located just a short walk from JR Obihiro Station, for lunch to energize myself for the afternoon. With nearly 100 years of history, the place has a wonderfully authentic and lively atmosphere. It was bustling with a mix of Obihiro locals and tourists, which is always a great sign.
Upon entering, I was greeted with a warm and energetic welcome from the owner herself, which made for a great first impression. The staff throughout the meal were polite and seemed very comfortable serving international guests.
I ordered the Shrimp Tempura Set Meal (Ebi-ten Teishoku), which included soba noodles. The tempura was cooked to perfection – the batter was incredibly light and crispy, and the shrimp was fresh. The soba noodles were also a highlight, served in a rich and flavorful dashi broth that was absolutely delicious from the first sip to the last.
