On this trip to Japan (May) I was really chasing Tantanmen style ramen. I just really love it. It is thick, spicy and always good. This was one of the spots that I found. I arrived at 12 noon on a Friday and there were about 6 people in line (all Japanese, all men having a lunch break from work). The wait wasnt too long, but it was hot in the sun.
Inside the shop there are seats for 6-8ppl. There is no English at this shop and no English menu, I did some research and knew what I wanted but I also had to ask someone at the counter if they spoke english and then asked them to point to the right button. Only one person working the counter.
Loved this ramen, there was a great addition of sansho pepper powder, plus dried shrimp in the bottom of the bowl.

   Read moreThe ãã麺 (shoyu ramen) was excellent, with a beautiful color in both the broth and the toppings. The soy sauceâbased soup had a rich yet clean flavor, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of depth. It was a wonderfully made bowl of ramen that left a very good impression.
The ãã£ãŒã·ã¥ãŒ (chashu pork) was outstanding, tender, and full of flavor, with a perfect texture. The noodles were also cooked just right and complemented the soup beautifully. Overall, these ramen were truly satisfying and worth the visit.
The ambiance was pleasant and comfortable, and the service was very friendly and attentive. Ordering is done through a machine, but there is an English-friendly guide available, which makes it easy even for non-Japanese speakers.
