Totoro Café — Restaurant in Oishida

I went there on 5th February 2022. One word, the staff (an old lady) was extremely rude and the food was okay to be the best with the pasta completely inedible.

To begin with, we sat on a table and removed the middle layer and the staff came and told we can't. There were tables with no layer and I don't know why she was bothered. Then we said we want to change seats and she replied “if you move, I have to clean this table again”. My friend was so annoyed, she said, shell clean the table herself and she cleaned and we went to the next table with no middle layer.

Coming to the food, I ordered sea food ricr while my friend ordered pasta. The sea food rice okay at max. I mean it was like any other Japanese curry, nothing special. But my friend’s pasta was so bland and didn't have any flavour at all. Furthermore, the white stuff you see in the picture is not cheese, it's yam. So there was no taste at all. My friend who is a foodie couldn't eat it.

After visiting Ginzan Onsen, I had 30 minutes before the next train, so I came here. It's a cute little café right by the station with relaxing music and a nice atmosphere. I ordered the banana au lait and pizza toast. The banana au lait was delicious, you can tell fresh bananas were used. My train was about to arrive so they let me have the pizza toast to go. I really appreciate how they carefully wrapped it and provided a wet wipe so I could clean my hands. Also the toast was very thick. I wish I had more time to spend there and enjoy the calm atmosphere. I had a great experience and would recommend it if you're in the area and have an hour...

Just beside Oishida station, a convenient place to dine after visiting Ginzan Onsen. I had the seafood curry, it was delicious, my kids had pork cutlets, chicken karage and omu rice. They asked us wht time our train would arrive to let us know if we have enough time, or if they could prepare the food on time, to give us options. The place was cozy and clean. Server and the owner were friendly. Recommended...
