These days in Japan, you can find all kinds of curry—CoCo Ichibanya, café-style curry, Indo-Nepalese curry, Sri Lankan curry, and more. This restaurant, however, specializes in Pakistani curry.
This area has a relatively large community of people with roots in Pakistan, often even featured in news programs, and there is also a mosque nearby. For that reason, many Pakistani restaurants are clustered in the neighborhood.
The curry here has a light flavor, with the taste of broth coming first, followed by a sharp spiciness that lingers. The biryani, served as part of the lunch set, comes with large pieces of chicken cooked together with the rice. It also has a light flavor, with spices that leave a pleasant aroma, and the portion is quite generous. In the A Set I tried, the biryani was served along with naan about 20 cm in diameter, so the meal was very substantial.
Although the restaurant is a little far from the station and not convenient for everyday use, the food is something you will definitely want to come back for—a unique flavor you cannot find elsewhere. It was delicious. I recommend this place especially to anyone who feels a bit tired of the usual Indo-Nepalese curry.
As a side note, the chef who cooked for me during this visit mentioned that I happened to be his very first customer, and he kindly gave me an unexpected service. Thank you very much!

Read moreWe are visiting Japan from the USA and have tried several restaurants in Tokyo and Kyoto, but Sitara Hilal in Osaka is by far the best. We ordered the thali with mutton, chicken biryani, saag, and naan, and everything was simply delicious. The food tasted just like fresh homemade cooking with perfectly balanced spices—not too heavy, not too mild. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable compared to the USA. Truly an amazing experience, highly...
Read moreThey are neighbors who help each other out. When I came here, I was invited by a middle-eastern Muslim person and suddenly arrived here for lunch. The halal options are really good, the portions are also big and I was stuffed. Even if I could, I would love to take it home. The meat is big and very fragrant.
I recommend this restaurant for people who after praying at the mosque, but are confused about where to eat. Chicken and mutton biryani is the...
