Dining & Bar Haluka — Restaurant in Otsu

Don't​ let​ the​ bad​ reviews​ fool you! This​ is​ a​ really​ nice​ restaurant​ with​ a​ lovely​ view​ of​ the​ blue​ sky​ and​ hills. I​ came in​ for​ lunch​ with​ my​ family​ of​ 4 at​ around​ 13:05.​ There​ was​ a​ bit​ of​ a​ line​ but​ we​ only​ had​ to​ wait​ for​ 5 minutes. There​ are​ not​ many​ options​ but​ their​ food​ is​ very​ delicious. Some​ of​ my​ favourite​ menus are​ the​ pan​ seared salmon​ and​ grilled​ chicken​ but​ they​ also​ have​ pork​ and​ beef.​ Each​ dish comes​ with​ some​ potato wedges which​ were​ decent but​ very​ hot​. You​ also​ have​ to​ choose​ another​ side: either rice​ or​ 2 buns of​ bread. I​ recommend​ the​ bread​ though.​ They​ also​ have​ alcholic drink​s​ like​ cocktails and​ wine.​ Inculding​ mocktails.​ The​ food​ came​ very​ quick too! My​ salmon​ came​ with​in​ 3 minutes​ of​ order​ing​ and​ was​ so​ soft and​ fresh​. You​ order​ from​ a​ QR code​. There​ is​ only​ 1 dessert​ though​. I was surprised that they serve halal steak I only asked for the food to be free from Alcohol/pork products, but then the waiters was mentioning “Halal” to the chef.. then they brought me a card with certificate of Halal strip loin steak from Australia I ended up eating the Salmon steak as I was in the mood for it 😆 It was delicious and took 5-7 min to prepare The butter sauce was great with the Salmon steak.

The red/brown sauce used with the food may contain red wine, so please ask before ordering. You order from the barcode on your table.

As soon as I walk in I see vegetables on a plate sitting in heat waiting to be served witch is pretty sad because you can prep that in 20 seconds. Also I’m pretty disappointed because I ordered a 6dollars hot chocolate and I wanted to add a shot of espresso with it and they said no. How hard is it to pay for a shot ?
