福ちゃんラーメン — Restaurant in Ozu

This is an unassuming but excellent little ramen shop that could be easily missed by non-Japanese speakers. A very kind woman in the visitors center at the Ozu train station recommended Fuku-chan ramen and mapped out directions for us. But we walked right past it because it looks like part of an industrial building and all the signage is in Japanese.

After overshooting the place by a block or two, a woman on the sidewalk pointed us in the right direction. After we turned around we noticed the awning and the trappings of a restaurant.

Fuku-chan is very small with maybe eight counter stools and a couple of traditional seiza tables. The chef and his wife (?) were very kind and the ramen...

This is a sweet little Ramen restaurant where they use water produced in Ozu to make their delicious Ramen. I ordered Asahi draft beer to go along with my miso Ramen. The beer was served in ice cold mugs, great for cooling down on a hot summer evening. The prices were very reasonable. They do not have an english menu but even a smattering of Japanese is enough to order a meal 😉

本日初来店。『ラーメン(大)』を注文しました。口コミの期待を裏切らない味！『旨っま！』完飲写真を撮り忘れました。二郎系ラーメンが苦手な自分の感想ですが、完飲するほど満足したラーメンは以下の通りです、『真木食堂』『高見屋』『ひかり食堂』『心』でしたが、『福ちゃんラーメン』が追加され５件となりました。近いうちラーメン好きな同僚連れてまた行くでしょう。ごちそうさまでした。 同僚と来店。今回は完飲写真忘れませんでした。今度は気になる『鍋焼きラーメン』にしてみよう。 本日は『鍋焼きラーメン(大)』をいただきました。期待通りの『旨さ!』残すところ後は、『みそラーメン』！次回も期待して行きます。 みその前に『月見ラーメン(大)』を頂きました。残念！生卵を入れることによって、汁がぬるく感じました。鍋焼きの生卵は熱々の中にあるので、底に沈めておけば半熟玉子に変身して、おいしかったのですが、残念ながら月見は今後、注文しないでしょう(☆3.5)。 『みそラーメン(大)』を頂きました。コクが物足りない感じでした(☆4)。これでコンプリート！『ぬるいラーメン』は食べる気がしません。よって、『ラーメンか鍋焼きラーメン』の二択です！雑炊が好きな人は『鍋焼きラーメン＋めし』ですね。 R5年1月19日　大州の仕事最終日。全メニュー制覇して、大州の最終の昼御飯を味わおうと楽しみにしてた今日！ナント『コロナ濃厚接触者のため臨時休業』の張り紙😭『Instagram』等で告知してくれてたら、うれしい案件。残念です！ 仕事休みの日に嫁連れて、伺いたいと思います。今度の仕事は遠方で大州に昼御飯は行けません。ありがとうございました。 R6年8月15日八幡浜花火前に伺いました。変わらず旨し✨次はいつ来れるかな～⁉️ R6年9月、今月も来ることができました🎵今日は野村町の有名店からのハシゴ❗『鍋焼きラーメン(並)』にしました❕旨し✨本日2件目で腹七分で来て、満腹満足です✨ごちそうさまでした🎵 R6年12月寒いこの日は『鍋焼き(大)』。休みの日、ドライブがてらの昼食でした✨ R7年6月久しぶりの来店。『ラーメン(大)』コクがあって、やさしい味、旨し✨ 【完飲一覧】 ・久万高原『真木食堂』閉店 ・松山市三津『高見屋』 ・四国中央『ひかり食堂』 ・西条市『心』 ・大洲市『福ちゃんラーメン』 ...
