Nice Indian restaurant near Camp Zama and the train station. Prices are a little higher than other Indian restaurants in the area and they don't have as many set options. They do have a nice clean dinning room with a view of the street. Portions are a decent size (for Americans) and the menu is in English. The nan bread is great and they have many options (ex plain, garlic, cheese, etc.) I have tried the regular and the garlic and both have a good flavor and are cooked evenly (not burnt.) my favorite dishes here are the Butter Chicken and the Chicken Tika Masala. They will custom make some dishes if you have a hankering for something not on the menu if they aren't busy, but their cooking style is more sweet & perfuming than spicy so if you have a specific dish in mind beware it might not be exactly as you have had it other places, or kick up the level of spice. The owner does offer cooking classes and from attending those we know that he actually hand grinds all of his spices fresh for each dish. This definitely adds to the genuine flavors and expertise that he brings to each of his dishes. Roti-Boti is a good restaurant in this area, but if you want to try other styles check out Sagami Ono (...) or Machida (Local India) station areas and for more bang for your buck (yen) then there are a few off the beaten path that are pretty good substitutes. Either way this is still a good...
Read moreThis is one of the best local Indian food I've tried around Camp Zama! I loved how large the naan size was. The chicken was tasty too! The chicken and potato curry and keema curry was so delicious and addicting - I finished it all. I also dipped the samosa in the chimichurri sauce. Absolutely delicious! It was great. We ordered the seasonal pumpkin naan too and had it packed to take home! I'm excited to come back and try the other different curries and dishes this place...
Read moreTaste, portion, and price are all relatively good. There are levels of spiciness. Service is really good as well, our group was even given service tea. My only reservation is a handful of us were left waiting for a long time for our order to come while the rest of us are already halfway through. I almost always never appreciate that. Would still come back and eat next...
