If you have a car, drive to this little family run sushi restaurant, not far from Cape Ogon.
The chef prepares the sushi fresh in front of you. You can sit at the sushi bar or at tables (but you have to sit on the floor, traditional Japanese style).
The portions are generous and tasty. The fatty tuna was really good, so was the salmon, crab, prawn, abalone, and a few others that I can't remember and the conger eel hosomaki. My wife and I shared the 10 piece special sushi (¥3500) and the conger eel hosomaki. It comes with tea and a nice clear mushroom soup. Generally prices are reasonable.
They do have an English menu, if you prefer old school, instead of using Google Translate.
He asked where we are from, and we told him that we are from Malaysia. He told us where the Shakotan Fire Festival would be at. However after we found that place and was waiting around, he showed up to tell us that due to the rain the fire festival was cancelled. I mean he didn't have to, but he did anyway. That was service way above and beyond. Super nice of him.

The food was tasty. Simple 9-10 piece sets which differ by quality not quantity. So if you want better cuts l, we need to buy the more expensive sets. My basic set costed me ¥1,300
The location is super convenient, as it is located by the traffic light. They have: an English menu, counter and tatami mat low-tables (no western-style tables), non-sushi foods and alcohol.
They are open for lunch.
