Uni was disappointing. Came here for the highly raved Uni. The bafun uni was supposed to be in season for Shakotan. It was not my first time eating uni but first time eating at a Uni specialty store in Japan.

The red bafun uni was indeed very creamy and melt in the mouth. It does not have any fishiness and taste clean. However, it barely had much taste? I did not taste the sweetness that uni is supposed to have. Perhaps the taste of ezo bafun uni is supposed to be more delicate compared to Murasaki? I don’t know but I expected an 8,800 yen uni bowl to taste better.

Price wise 8,800 yen is a lot to shell out for a uni bowl. They seemed to have raised their price recently. Recent reviews from July 2033 stated the red bafun uni at ¥7,000 +. Reviews from earlier in 2019 stated the price at ¥5,500. That’s quite a lot of price increase over the years and over the past 2 months. Very authentic and fresh seafood especially the sea urchin. The red ones are the best ( pricey at 6000 yen) with good typical Japanese rice . The miso soup was also fantastic with a rich taste of seafood and not too salty. Service staff was not very friendly typical of good old restaurants ! Adds character to the place. Be prepared to wait 30 minutes after 1230 pm as local tourists will arrive after visiting...

ちょっとがまんならない出来事がありましたので記します ちなみに毎年スペシャルウニ丼を食べに来ていたくらい 好きなお店でした

朝早く(12番以内です)隣のお食事処みさきにて赤ウニ丼(礼文産)を食べた後に中村屋へ移動しました みさきでは白ウニは積丹産と書いてありました

直に入店出来最初に赤ウニ丼を注文しようとしましたが 積丹産ではないのにかなり高額であったため 2店続けて他の地域産赤ウニ丼もなんだかなと思い 白ウニ丼にしようと店員に声を掛けました

すると白ウニ丼も積丹産ではなく道内産との事で 何処の地域か聞いたのですが教えてもらえませんでした

その時の店員の態度が悪くまだ注文前だったので 積丹産ウニが無い事を理由に丁重に退店することを伝えると 何処の店に行っても積丹産は無いからと嫌味を言われました またその時の言い方が非常に意地悪く喧嘩腰だったのです

この日は朝うに漁があったため他のお店(3店目)へ連絡済みで 10時頃に剥き終わりウニ丼準備できると確認済みでしたので その事を伝えると頭ごなしにそんなはずはないと何度も言われ 更に態度が悪くなり酷いものでした

しかしながら私も一度入店したのに退店する失礼もあるので 靴を入れるビニール袋を手渡しでお返しどうもすみませんと 言ったのですが無言で嫌々受け取られました

今回言いたいのは 積丹産が無いのなら普通に言ってくださいです

利尻だか礼文だかの赤ウニと道内産(地域は不明)の白ウニなので 積丹で食べる意味が私にはありませんでした 白ウニ丼が積丹産ならばもちろん注文する予定でしたが 遥々遠方から交通費や宿泊費やレンタカー費を駆使して積丹へ 来たのに黙ってたらわからない内に他の地域産ウニ丼を高額で 食べるところでした

せめて積丹は不漁なので他の地域産ですと言えば良いだけなのに 地域を教えないとかあからさまに不機嫌になるとか もう信用できませんし今まで食べたスペシャルウニ丼も疑わしくなってきました 去年の赤ウニ丼は一粒一粒が非常に大きく色も黒かったので 違和感を覚えたことがあり積丹産のウニは小粒で柔らかい 印象なのでよく覚えています もちろん漁の時期的な事もあると思いますのでうにの状態なんて 素人の私にはまったくわかりませんのであくまで個人の感想です

他の地域産うにもそれぞれ非常に美味しく 毎年色々な所へ出かけ地域毎の味を楽しみたいだけなのです

なのによりによって何処産のうにか聞いたら不機嫌になるとか 私の言うことにそんなはずは無いと断言したり普通では無い 状況だと思いますし非常に不愉快な思いをしましたので 元好きなお店が残念になってしまいました

店員が嫌いだからと言ってもお店が嫌いなわけではないのですが なんだかもやもやします

いつの日か積丹のうにが復活し朝どれ前浜うにが食べられ...

You need to know that this restaurant offers the Top notch uni (sea urchin) which you won’t find anywhere in the world. You may have some chance to get the same one (aka uni) in Tokyo, LA or Dubai but the price will drive you crazy for sure. The food is unparalleled and extremely fresh. The 赤うに丼 is more than 10,000yen but you MUST TRY IT! Absolutely one of the best uni restaurants in積丹

Fresh uni only provided from June to August every year due to the regulation, if you visit here at the other time there are only steamed uni, I would say not bad but not impressive. Their salmon tasted a bit muddy I wouldn’t recommend. But I like that there were chairs on tatami so you don’t need to bend your knee throughout the whole meal!

You need to know that this restaurant offers the Top notch uni (sea urchin) which you won’t find anywhere in the world. You may have some chance to get the same one (aka uni) in Tokyo, LA or Dubai but the price will drive you crazy for sure. The food is unparalleled and extremely fresh.
