津あき — Restaurant in Shunan

The mini eel-on-rice that I had was very tasty and came with a delicious thin soup, pickles, and free hot (or cold) green tea. It was served quickly. The atmosphere is traditional Japanese with a big inviting cat on the counter and bottles of sake behind. In the evenings is more of a sushi restaurant. The super fit 60 something (going on 35) proprietor looks professional. It was not cheap but fine for the price (1700 jpy). The only problem was that initially the proprietor was a little brusque. I entered the restaurant and picked up a was reading a menu by the entrance, and the boss seemed to be intimating 'I don't want time wasting foreigners' by asking "So, are you going to eat here then?" (in Japanese) within a few seconds of my arrival, when it was clear I was looking at the menu. I said "I am looking at the menu," (also in Japanese) . I stayed, ordered, enjoyed my food, and the proprietor was very courteous afterwards. But perhaps if I had not been able to speak Japanese, it would not have gone so well. 開店とほぼ同時にお店の中に入り、初めて行く所でした。勝手に座っていいか分からずで店員さんと目が合い、カウンターどうぞ！と言われ、入り口付近は寒かったので少し奥に座ろうとすると、そこでお願いします!と入り口付近の所を指定されました。面倒臭そうかつ強い口調で誘導されもうこの時点で嫌でした。他のお客様がいたので少し経って頼む物を聞かれて頼みました。大将がちょうど席を外していたみたいで頼んでから30分以上は経っていました。日替わりランチを頼み、具沢山で様々な小鉢もありボリュームたっぷりで美味しかったのですがモヤモヤした気持ちが残ったまま帰りました。 何もしていないのに、あからさまに嫌そうな態度を取られて本当に悲しくて嫌な気持ちになりました。料理は美味しくて大将は気さくな方だったのでまた食べ...

周南市で瀬戸内海のお魚を食べるならココ！と言っても過言ではありません。ただ、場所が駅から離れているので車でないと行くには不便です。別で魚屋さんも経営されています。金額的にもこちらの希望通りに合わせてくれます。例えば好きなものを好きなだけ食べて飲んだら二人で2万ちょい位。家族と5人で行くけど3万くらいでやってくださいと事前に連絡して行くとそれに合わせた料理を提供してくれます。安いから品質が落ちるとかなるとかでもなく、寿司メインから天ぷらメインに変えた料理にしてくれるといった感じ...
