Not worth coming to if you remember what it used to be before it became so popular. Feels a bit like a cafe with a self-checkout system, and the atmosphere has been ruined. There's just too many people, which is good for the cafe sure, but it's changed too much to have the sparkle that made it worth the trip before. There's no more bench seating along the edge of the deck (so nearly everyone gets a view), now it's picnic tables around the deck and building, where about half of them have any view, and most of the time you'll have someone from Tokyo daytripping in your view. It doesn't feel relaxing like it used to, from many things but the radio that yells out customer names is part of that.
The drinks and sweets are tasty sure, but without the atmosphere that the place used to have, it's difficult to justify the cost and the need to come here. It's become just another popular cafe where people are coming to get lunch for some reason (it's a cafe not a restaurant). I really think the effort to satisfy the lunch-seeking big city crowd has damaged the cafe part too much.
A shout out to the university students in a group of 4 that decided they needed to separate into boys and girl groups (are they children?) and take two tables instead of 1, just so they could get easier photos with food, and in the process blocking another group from being able to get into the cafe at a busy...
Read moreSuper nice location and delicious food but borscht is a Ukrainian soup, not russian as it was mentioned in the menu. It's shame not to know it! When I asked the staff about it, the woman was very polite and said that she knows it but the guy who is in charge there (I guess) just laughed in response. Their menu is printed on a regular white office paper and stacked in a clear file folder like menu book, so it's absolutely no problem to correct this mistake. But after this response I don't think the owner cares about such haha unimportant...
