高千穂 鶏の炭火焼 吾平店 — Restaurant in Takachiho

Hands down one of the best chicken nanbans I have ever had in Japan. Knowing that the dish is the local specialty here, we ordered it at almost all restaurants and this place features the most delicious one!

Jidori and Takachiho steak was reallyyy delicious as well. The restaurant owner also taught us how to grill chicken nicely and treated us really politely as well. Price is not expensive compared to the quality of meat you can get. This place is one of the must-visits during your trip in Takachiho.

Oh, this place was amazing and so happy we managed to get a dinner reservation here. We absolutely loved the a5 beef and it completed melted in our mouth without being too oily or fatty. We liked it so much we ordered a second portion! I usually am not a fan of chicken nanban but the one they have here was so delicious and not oily at all. The service was also really good - we had wanted to order onigiri but was told it was sold out. But towards the end of our dinner, the waiter brought out 4 pieces just for us which was so thoughtful of him. Hands down one of the best bbq meals...

It was a very enjoyable experience! The food was very delicious! They were very helpful specially the guy in the photo! He helped us grill the meat while explaining what kind of food it is. He even offered us a ride back to our hotel since there is no bus and we have no car.
