Building: The restaurant building is Registered as a Japanese Tangible Cultural Heritage. A modern and contemporary cultural relics (buildings) from the period from the Meiji Restoration to World War II that are particularly in need of preservation or effective utilization. Amazed the the building design and ambient.

Reservation: Upon arrival, go to the counter to register your name, number of people and preferred seating (tatami or chair). Waiting area has plenty of seats. They will let you know the waiting time and call out your name when it is your time. We sit at the tatami session, it's like a hall with plenty of seats. Nice ambient with good view at the window.

The Udon: They menu has simple variety of udon, just few to choose on. The udon with chewy texture and cook perfectly, the broth was also taste so well. The tempura is also the star. The coating was crunchy and taste much better than general tempura with fresh ingredient.

Service: 5 star services.

Conclusion: One of the best udon restaurant - a must try restaurant if you are around. Less tourist due to accessibility but...

Yum! Udon is my favourite noodle and this place does them wonderfully! Chewy and moist but not slimy!

There was a little queue to write your name down for the table waitlist (you can choose between tatami or chair/table, or ‘don’t mind’), but I want waiting for more than 5mins in total between arriving and being sat down (around noon on a Monday).

There is an English menu. You presumably already know udon is their speciality so you should really get it. They have cold and hot, with broth or dipping sauce, with kitsune tofu, etc. They also have sets which include two pieces of sushi and about 5 pieces of tempura - which, incidentally, was some of the best tempura I’ve had in japan. So crispy on the outside but not dry in the middle. Delicious. They were also able to accommodate my request for no shrimp tempura.

The garden is also very tranquil and the staff are nice too.

Good quality and reasonable price -...

We arrived 15mins before closing and was lucky to not have any line! We got a nice table in the spacious dining room and the waiters were simply too nice! The cold beef ramen was sooooooo good! Noodles were just the right springy-ness, sauce was light, beef was super tender with sweet caramelised onions. It also comes with a small bowl of crispy batter bits which is perfect when you add half first to the meal so that it adds some crunchy texture to every bite and the rest at the end with the remaining sauce so that you finish the sauce with crispy soft soaked bits! So yummy! The curry udon was also really good. The curry was rich, deep and perfectly spiced to go with the slightly more tender udon (cos it’s hot) All served with refreshingly cold ojicha that cleanse the palate between bites and after the meal. Such a good meal!...
