肥後楽 たてや — Restaurant in Takamori

We came to the restaurant without reservation. Because the restaurant had only a of couple owners and there was another group of customers with reservation, they suggested us to visit the temple and came back after half an hour, preventing us waiting for the meal for a long time. The couple owners were very friendly. Though we are from Taiwan and cannot speak very well Japanese, the owners introduced the local food to us in passionate ways. The cuisines were very delicious and we enjoyed so much. When we left the restaurant, the owners gave us very best wishes on having a great journey in the trip. A great place we randomly stopped at for lunch that ended up being the best meal of our trip. We had to google translate the menus but there was nothing to worry about as every item was skillfully executed with the utmost technique. The chef really knows how to blend Japanese dishes with hints of Chinese flavours. Also they had a cute cat around side of the carpark.
