a very comfortable place with good food and coffee. i had many free moments of time "to kill" while waiting for the ferry or the bus, but thankfully i enjoyed it in the lovely atmosphere of this humble but lovely establishment. this location is perfect! if i am ever in the area again, i hope this place still exists so i can enjoy it again! this place also seems like a sort of community base for people in the area. i saw their calendar. there were art and social events, but also a haircut day where a hair stylist comes to the shop. that might seem weird, but think about how remote Iriomote is. We went to this place twice. We loved it, I wish I was there now. Not typical japanese food, but more the Iriomotex-mex thing. We tried the hamburger and the taco rice, not tako rice, so no octopus here, but meat! Very tasty. And the place is decorated with love, unpretentious and casual. I just regret that the second time we were told they did not serve food because it was already 15:00, but then offered the french toast that perfectly made as a lunch for us. Very nice staff. Super friendly and lovely. Great place to grab a bevvy while waiting for the ferry. For a Canadian from the temperate rain forest, this place was an oasis from the early summer heat. The local brown sugar coffee bubble tea was delicious and the ice cream was great. My only issue was that I shouldn't have eaten it as I am lactose intolerant. Luckily my travelling companion was the only one who had to live with my choices.
