お食事処 山愛(さんあい) — Restaurant in Tokamachi

SANAI is very casual restaurant of Japan located in Matsunoyama-Onsen Street. The taste, service, interior are different from sophisticated restaurants or modern restaurant visited many foodies, but we can enjoy distinctive atmosphere of casual Japanese life style. Regarding the taste, the dishes are not elegant but enjoyable by hand-made casual cooking way. As many people say, the most recommendable dish is “Katsu-don (Pork cutlet on rice)”. This area (called Echigo-Tsumari area combined Tokamachi city and Tsunan town) are famous for pork and rice as regional special products. Utilizing these two main ingredients (The pork is very thick and great taste and the rice is absolutely different from the one served in Japanese typical food chain restaurants), Katsu-don of SANAI is very nice and recommendable to try. The service was a bit slow, although they were not at all busy. My friend said that in the past the portions were also bigger. It is not the cheapest.

ちょっと奥まった入り口で見つけにくいですが、アットホームな何処か懐かしい感じのするお店でおすすめです。

我々は美女林の駐車場の看板を見てランチ時間に訪れました。

お食事も美味しく、店員さんや厨房のおばあちゃんがにこやかでとても感じが良い印象でした。

その日は、丁度お昼時でお店が大変忙しく皆厨房に入ったきりでしたが、厨房の入り口で声がけすると申し訳無さそうに出てきてくれて対応してくれました。 店員さんはてんやわんやといった感じを受けましたが、提供が遅いという事もなかったです。

奥に座敷、手前に4名テーブル数席があり、座敷は家族連れで賑わっていました。　座敷が開いていれば大人数でも大丈夫そうです。　子連れで少し賑やかでも座敷は離れているので気になりませんでした。 メニューも豊富なので好きなものを頼んで食べれて丁度いいかなと思いました。

また、十日町の飲食店はどこへ行っても美味しいと聞きましたが、こちらも期待外さず同じ。 どのメニューもボリュームが凄いです。

これだけクオリティが高いと都内にあるようなチェーン店は叶わないですね。 十日町に路面型の飲食チェーン店が殆ど無いのに納得です。

丁度春の山菜シーズンだったので 付け合わせにこごみのおひたしがついていたのは嬉しかったです。

普通の定食店でまさか山菜が食べられるとは。十日町では日常なのかもしれないですが、驚きました。

お店の目の前が駐車場で 3台ほど停めれる広さです。 いっぱいだと温泉の駐車場に停めて歩いて来てくださいと言われていました。 少し離れていますが天気が良ければ温泉街の風情を感じながら歩くのも良いかもしれません。
