I don't like leaving negative reviews but sometime you don't have a choice. Let's start with the food. The menu had no description of what was on the multitude of burgers offered. From the names you could figure out some of them. I threw caution to the wind and ordered the Tex-Mex burger with no idea what it would be. My fiancé ordered the BLT. Both came with a decent portion of fries that were good. The Tex-Mex burger was a low quality fatty burger patty, chili on a very good bun and a side of cheap watery salsa. The chili was decent. I wasn't sure what to do with the salsa, if I put it on the burger it would have made the whole thing a soggy mess that would have been difficult to eat. We used it instead for our fries. The BLT was okay. The bread, lettuce, tomato, and the mayo/mustard were all very good. It may be the way the Japanese make their bacon but that wasn't really bacon. It was pork belly but it did not seem to be cured or smoked in any way which is what makes pork belly bacon. It was okay but seemed to be of a lower quality. I had a Coke to drink and it was not good, I don't know if the mix was off or what. Now to the service, the staff didn't seem to have the same customer oriented demeanor that I've found at other Japanese restaurants. They were friendly enough I guess. Being so close to base and dealing with a lot of Americans has jaded them 😅. The atmosphere was okay. The resturaunt was worn but clean, lighting was good...the music was so loud we had difficulty talking to each other and occasionally it sounded like a woman was moaning (yes that kind of moaning) over the speakers. Not sure what was causing that. Overall, for the price it was not worth it. If you have access to Yokota, Rt. 16 is a much better American Diner experience. We will most likely not be returning. Though I do like to give restaurants another chance in case they were having an off...
Read moreI’ve been here a few times. Every time I come, I get an attitude from the people who work here. I’m very respectful and give them no reason to treat me badly.
Last night, I went and ordered takeout. They sat me at a table, took my order there, and I waited there for my food. Before leaving, I put some ketchup on my fries. They didn’t like that I did that. They approached me and told me it was takeout and I needed to leave.
It costs the same whether it’s takeout or sit-in. I’d use some ketchup on my fries either way. Very silly honestly. I’ll laugh about it yeah, but it’s not really the right way treat people.
Running an American style business to make money off American culture and then treating Americans who live here in the community badly… is just weird to me. But there’s always bad people and bad places. I’d say this is one of them.
The burgers are good for Japan. The meat is tougher than you will be used to. I think it’s from over handling. I’ll just make my own burgers at home. It’ll be good and I won’t have to deal...
Read moreSuch cool decor in this place and they really make this place look and feel like “back back BACK in the day” route 66 in the US. I saw the shareable plates and it reminded me of the over the top meals you’d see in the Midwest with the 20 stack patty burgers and such. But we weren’t there for that, it was a normalish meal this day. So we opted for the nachos, and this was so nostalgic for me because this was how I made my nachos at home when I was a kid…all store bought ingredients but pile the cheese and guacamole hella high. The avocado cheeseburger was the main dish, and the burger was super duper juicy but it had a bit too much seasoning IMO. Crazy because that’s a complaint you never hear in Japan…but…never say never right? But overall this place is pretty dope and I’d come back for another burger and nachos when...
