Great spot in Okutama! Ambience is laid back and cozy - a terrace option makes it very covid friendly (although prepare to bundle in the winter). We didn’t have to wait for a table and arrived around 1:00 PM. We got the famous Hamburg set dish, and it didn’t disappoint! Other items on the menu looked great too - there was a bigger variety than I anticipated.

We were hoping to walk the little trail by the river after eating, but it seems it’s closed right now due to weather damage. A reason to pay another visit once...

We stopped at Earth Garden on the way to Okutama Station. Waited about forty minutes to get in. The restaurant has a great atmosphere — clean, friendly staff, and we sat at the counter with a beautiful view of the river and mountains. The service was kind and attentive, with thoughtful suggestions like gluten-free bread instead of rice.

That said, the food didn’t live up to expectations. We ordered the double hambagu (180g × 2), but the patties were undercooked in the middle and still pink. Since they’re made of pork, it felt concerning. We also noticed other guests’ patties were cooked through, so it seemed inconsistent. The potatoes on the side were undercooked as well, firm in the middle, which made us think the pan wasn’t heated long enough. The gluten-free bread option was dry and airy, not very satisfying. The sausage was okay, but nothing memorable.

Considering the big signs on the way in claiming it was “the best hamburger you’ll ever have,” the food was ordinary at best. Combined with the high price (around 5000 yen for two), it felt more like a 5–6/10 experience. The view and service were excellent, but the cooking and value didn’t match the...

Laidback restaurant nestled in the greens of Okutama valley. they are famous for their Japanese hamburg, which I can vouch for as it was absolutely delicious. The price is a bit high, but something can expected as it’s out of the way.

The views were amazing if you sit on the terrace. It’s a must visit for lunch if you happen to be hiking around the area or...

The view and service were excellent, but the cooking and value didn’t match the hype.
