Nakaya Bakery — Restaurant in Tokyo

As a Westerner, I am very thankful to have this neighborhood bakery. It is not a western bakery, but they do have a large variety of European-style breads available but not at the outrageously high prices of Tokyo european-style bakeries. They also have Japanese-european fusion breads, which is interesting. The baguette is good but the croissants are consistently over-baked and they are slightly burnt...

This is my most favorite bakery in Tokyo. Though it is in very inconvenient location unless you live near by, though it’s worth a trip in my opinion. I’ve visited there several times over the years but they never disappoint me. Everything there is fantastic. Definitely definitely recommended...

あんぱんが有名ですが他のパンも美味しいです。 ⚫︎あんバター ぜひリベイクして食べてほしいです。バゲット生地がサクサクで歯切れ良く粉の風味も良くなります。バターは香りが良くまろやか、餡も豆の風味が良くしつこくない甘さでバランスが良いです。 ⚫︎カレーパン 皮がモチモチしていて中身のカレーも本格的なスパイスの風味がします。具もごろごろ入っていて小ぶりですが食べ応えもあります。 ⚫︎バゲット フランス産小麦とカナダ産小麦の2種がありました。両方買ってみたところどちらも小麦粉の風味がしっかりしていて美味しかったです。値段も365円とお手頃です。どちらかと言うとフランス産の方が食感が軽く甘味があり、カナダ産の方が粉の個性を強く感じました。 ⚫︎ダークチェリーデニッシュ デニッシュ生地のとにかくサクサクで食感が最高です。ジューシーなダークチェリー甘さ控えめなカスタードとの相性も抜群です。 ⚫︎キャロットケーキ 生地には胡桃がゴロゴロ入っていて香ばしく、たっぷり乗ったフロスティングはレモンの香りが爽やかです。 代替わりしてから品揃えが変わり店内もお洒落な雰囲気になりました。ベテラン店員さんの感じが良く、この辺りにしては値段は高めですが...
