I am from Los Angeles so I am often searching for good Mexican food in Japan. I have been to Mexican restaurants all over the country from Fukuoka to Nagano to Tokyo. This is by far the BEST Mexican restaurant I have eaten at in Japan.
We had the tortilla chips and guacamole first, it appears the chips are homemade in-store as is the guacamole, quite good. We also had the fried Jalapeños with cheese, which reminded me of an authentic Chili Relleno. Then we had the 8 tacos platter (various kinds) - our favorites were the Al Pastor & Beef + Cheese.
The restaurant is quite busy, but the staff are friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and lively, like a Mexican restaurant back home. They also have a wide selection of Mexican cocktails like Paloma and Margaritas.
The spice level is like home as well, it made the meal more authentic. This restaurant is worth the time and worth the train ride to Hana-Koganei. Delicious authentic Mexican food, reasonable prices, and great staff. It would be amazing if they opened a food truck to take their great food all over Japan. A must-try experience; especially for Japanese seeking an authentic taste....
Read moreMexican place in Hanakoganei on the underground of a building. Medium sized store, can seat around 20 people or so. I have came many times for lunch. Photos on the review are on a dinner for 3 people. Great options on both lunch and dinner.ambiance is great, music and decoration give Mexican vibes in a good tone.
Food is great, flavor is on point. For a Japanese restaurant, spice is quite good. Sometimes take some time to come, but overall the chicken is very well run.
We had 8 tacos set, nachos, avocado soup, among many other food, some margueritas and drinks. Price was 9150 Japanese. It is not a cheap place, but it is quite fair - worthy price.
Extra point is that they sell some stuff, like their carrot salad sauce,...

Covid prevention measures are in place. The caesar salad I ordered was fresh and delicious, as were the carnita tortillas, which made for messy eating with my unskilled tortilla-folding skills, but was just as yummy with the tender pulled pork and flavorful toppings. The portions, however, are quite small for the price - the salad and two small tortillas set me back 1694yen - and the dishes they offer are more suited for sharing than for a solo diner. The place has a cool, comfy vibe, and would be a great place to share a meal...
