Wada/Jinba Pass (West) - 9.4km/5.4% - Sagamihara/Kanagawa Prefecture - Max.19%/Elev.705m和田/陣馬山（西）-9.4km / 5.4％-相模原/神奈川県-最大19％/標高705m The Wada/Jinba Pass (West) climb (blue line on map) begins off the busy Route 20 by Fujino Station and enters a long tunnel after crossing the tracks (picture 1).  The climb has some undulations for the first 1.5km.  After passing through the small village of Sawai, the gradient begins to steadily increase (picture 4).  The climb includes some tight switchbacks and also some open views (pictures 3&5) before the final steep push to the summit (picture 6&7).  Great climb if you are heading back east to Hachioji or Takao Station from the Sengen Pass or Tsuru Pass (future posts). 和田・神馬峠（西）登りは（地図の青い線、藤野駅の混雑した国道20号線から始まり、線路を渡った後、長いトンネルに入ります（写真1）。登りは最初の1.5kmにいくつ小さいな丘があります。沢井の小さな村を通過した後、勾配は着実に増加し始めます（写真4）。登りには、サミットへの最後の急なプッシュ（写真6&7）の前に、いくつかスイッチバックといくつかのオープンビュー（写真3と5）があります。浅間峠または鶴峠（将来のポスト）から八王子駅または高尾駅に戻る場合は、素晴らしい登りです。

この場所まで車でこれる。これに限る。 西東京バス、神奈川中央交通の最寄りのバス停までほぼ同タイムと思われる。どちらもゲートから峠の茶店まで街灯がひとつもない。下山が遅くなる場合は懐中電灯必須。東京都側は幅員一杯のスラロームが続く。普通車以上の車は譲り合い精神で。登山者と自転車も多いので、安全のためライト点灯が良いと思う。 ゲートを通り過ぎるとどちら側におりてもホッとする。

自転車で陣馬街道を登って来ました。駐輪場がありますが有料（200円）なのでご注意下さい。ここでは眺望はありませんが、歩いて30分程で陣馬山頂に行けます。晴れていれば富士を望む絶景です。 追記 ロード系のビンディングシューズで山頂まで行くのは短距離とは言えまず無理です。MTB系の、しかもちゃんと歩く事も想定して作ってあるタイプの靴にしましょう。

自転車で陣馬街道を登って来ました。駐輪場がありますが有料（200円）なのでご注意下さい。ここでは眺望はありませんが、歩いて30分程で陣馬山頂に行けます。晴れていれば富士を望む絶景です。 追記 ロード系のビンディングシューズで山頂まで行くのは短距離とは言えまず無理です。MTB系の、しかもちゃんと歩く事も想定して作ってあるタイプの靴にしましょう。

It's a bit expensive for a dirt parking space. But I guess it's expensive to keep it in shape. Would be nice if there was something to clean your boots. The toilets could be a bit better. It's better to use the ones on top of Jinbasan. The stairs to the top have...
