Reserved for Sunday lunch. One of us got the A lunch set (appetizers shared), two got the B lunch. No extra fee for a glass of wine (choose from juices, teas, foreign wines ←unfortunately not Nagano wine though)! Reasonable for the very filling meal! Everything was delicious. The A set appetizer plate of salami, ham and cheese goes wonderfully with the wine. Formerly a chapel, so the stained glass remains, but no other churchy items. Office-like papers and binders, etc are left visible, so that is part of the restaurant atmosphere...

It’s a very good starting point for exploring Nagano, specifically Chikumagawa Valley wine region. Huge selection of wines and the sommelier Ms. Ishihara-san is very generous with her knowledge. The food cooked by chef is so delicious and hearty, goes very well with the wines. They have a cellar with interesting choices of Japanese wines. Thank you for this experience and see you next time!

Had a very nice lunch! Entree of mixed dishes (in the photo), sanma (fish) spaghetti. Desert. Tea. They have an excellent selection of Japanese wines that they personally select. You won’t go wrong choosing wine here and/or enjoying a delicious lunch. Every time we come to the area from Tokyo, we are sure to stop here.

A befittingly sacred setting to learn about the disciplined labours of Japanese winemakers while eating food prepared to bring out the best the wines have to offer. Hiroko-san has a wealth of knowledge on the local winemakers and you can definitely find some gems you won’t be able to locate anywhere else. Definitely worth a visit every time you’re...
