First and foremost.. I am posting about this location and NOT the “hotel” which is not a hotel anymore but a Cafe…(Not to be mistaken for Doro Cafe which is completely different place) a cafe that you can pretty much bank on being closed! Call first if that is your plan to go! I really think the Covid crisis took a toll on this place (and boat rentals/tours etc) especially being so remote! This spot (the gorge) in itself is phenomenally beautiful and so peaceful it’s hard to leave! There is public access down to river but it’s old and not maintained so if you have any mobility issues it could be difficult! I use a chair but can also walk some and I was so determined to get to the river bank I crawled part of the way! There are two step ways down at same spot (branch out after first bunch of steps) one has a sitting area and bit easier path. We were sooo blessed going when we did last week because weather was perfect and only a couple of people came and went… However.. there was a boat tour fellow that we had take us out for a 45 min tour and… wow…. Completely awestruck! The gorge itself was awesome but with mirror reflection …. Sigh… heavenly. I see ratings of hotel being one or 2 stars… smh and don’t know what’s wrong with people that they go all that freakin way and get bent all out of shape because an elder maybe can’t serve their coffee fast enough… and not really present in the settings they are really in! Bring your own drinks/snacks (take your litter with you) and just enjoy the whole place! If cafe open… support local business (especially for helping put this spot on the map) and don’t be a b@@ch!

とてもゆったりとした時が流れています。 野生のカワセミが見られて感動しました。 看板猫のきなこちゃんに癒されました。 また営業される際にお邪魔したいと思います。

Beautiful view while eating lunch. Ordered their japanese meal set, their curry stew rice, their special black irowa tea (both iced and soda version) and their ginger ale, and their dessert set. We enjoyed everything! And the ginger ale left an impression on me. The staff was friendly and the whole atmosphere there was peaceful and cozy. More accessible when driving.
