Lake Hill Farm — Restaurant in Toyako

This was the highlight of our visit to Lake Toya!

We initially planned to have ice cream but then realized they offer pizza and various other dairy dishes on the menu, so we decided to dine here and sit outdoors since it was a nice, cloudy day.

The milk pie impressed me, the pastry was incredibly flaky with a lovely buttery aroma, and the milk custard inside was light and not too sweet. The 5-cheese pizza was decent but not outstanding.

The large grassy area was so calming, and we spent some time enjoying the view and playing badminton (they thoughtfully provide sports equipment for customers to use).

Afterward, we headed to the adjacent space that sells ice cream. Remember to purchase a ticket from the machine, then queue to choose your flavor and get your ice cream. Oh my, it was one of the most delicious ice creams we had on this trip.

There is ample parking here as this spot is a good place to have a short break after driving from Sapporo towards lake toya. There is a gelato shop with some bench seats for enjoying the ice cream and a cafe next door with more proper food like curry rice, pizza and puffs, and hot drinks etc. Do note that the pizza has a long waiting time if there is many people ordering (we waited almost 30mins for ours) and there is somewhat limited seats/tables in the small cafe. Outdoor there is an open field area with metal tables and chairs for eating if you do a takeaway but cold temperatures could be a challenge. This was near our hotel so we came for lunch and ice cream. The small restaurant serves up a limited choice of pizzas and there are also some desserts like cream puffs. The pizzas are average but the vegetable pizza is not to my liking. The cream puffs are good. The ice cream is sold next door to the restaurant and is very popular. There is a queue for the ice cream. There are quite a few flavours to choose from. The ice cream is really good. Outside there is a large empty field and there are some smiles Like rabbits and goats to look at not not much else. Families with kids can let them run around and the place provides some catching games to play with.
