Toya Soba — Restaurant in Toyako

Cafe lake Toya is a great location on the north side of the lake. Away from the hustle and bustle of hotels, it is a nice spot for a meal and a wander next to the water.

They’ll tell you that the hashed beef (hayashi rice) is recommended, and it’s pretty good, but on our visit the buckwheat Breton galette and the almost croissant were the stars.

Who can ever guess that in that little and calm town would be a place where they serve sarasin crepes with fresh vegetables and free running egg !
