Decent soba served well!

Located just before the walk toward the 5 storied pagoda, this small restaurant serves good soba for a decent price. The owner is friendly and, despite her protests to the contrary, speaks pretty good English!

Also they have a cat who seems to enjoy lounging by the windows....

鶴岡駅行きのバスに乗り損ね途方に暮れていた時に偶然入ったカフェ。これが大当たりで乗れなくて幸いと思ったほど。メニューは国産十割蕎麦、天ぷら、団子、柿のチーズケーキ、柿シャーベなどこだわりがイロイロ。なんといっても魅力は素敵な女将さん!!アットホームで真心のこもったおもてなし。外国人の方には英語で対応されていました。実は色々助けて頂いて心から感謝でした。また次この地を訪れた時伺います!!

(Trans:I found this cafe when I was at a loss as to where to go after missing my bus. It was such a beautiful place that I was glad I missed the bus. The menu is full of carefully selected items, including 100% domestic buckwheat noodles, Tempura ,various types of Dango, persimmon cheesecake and sorbet. The most attractive thing was the lovely owner! She was very welcoming and sincere, and even spoke English to foreigners. I was truly grateful for all the help she gave me.
