Went for dinner during winter 2020. Had steamed shells, shrimps and pork with vegetables. Pros: You get to choose your own seafood, the amount and each individual shell, shrimp or fish. There are also steamed prok, snacks and meats for non-seafood lovers. Big specialty of this place is that it is steamed using onsen steam. There's a one time fee of cleaning and steaming for a total of 800 yen. So the food making process is right infront of your eyes.

Anything you ordered will be ready by the steam from the hot spring, very fresh and healthy. I especially like the steam rice, cost ¥350, local special rice and small fish combination. They can also prepare sashimi and fried dishes if you know how to order. Staff are very friendly and patient with the foreigners. Restaurant last order at 8pm, close at 9pm.
Outside the restaurant, there is a seaside onsen facility right next to the shore, should be good to take onsen there during sunset and walk...
Read moreAttracted to the huge hotspring steamers, we walked into the restaurant, Mushigamaya. We were not disappointed. The portions were large and sumptuous. Certainly value for money! My favourite is the rice + fish soup for ¥500, and a basket of steamed meat, mushroom + veggies for ¥650. My partner had the No. 18 Ara-Sashi Set Meal @ ¥1600. For dinner, we ordered Yokubaridon @ ¥2900 (rice bowl topped with 8 different types of fresh sashimi) together with two bowls of fish soup. The portion was large and super yummy!
Psst! Tea, and water are free flowing.
While there, try the public Onsen overlooking the Bay. Bring along a towel to...
