We stopped by right as the shop opened, hoping for a light breakfast. We chose three pastries: a matcha bun, a cheese bun, and a sweet potato bun. Each was delicious, but the sweet potato really stood out to me. The very kind woman at the counter (perhaps she was the owner?) mentioned that sweet potatoes are currently in season, so the flavor is at its best right now.

Though I’m a big pastry fan, I usually avoid them in the morning because they can make me feel heavy and sluggish. But these were so delicate and airy—just perfect for starting the day. Highly recommend! Takeout only when we were there, so instead we hopped across the street and devoured our goodies while sitting in the bleachers of an unused sports...

It’s the Yakushima Ultramarathon day today. (January 12). While waiting for participants, I was looking for a place to have breakfast. Based on Google map, nothing was opened before 10:00 am in this area, except ぺいた, I was excited until I got closer to the shop (34km from where I was: near Miyanoura) where it was said: closed for long time Happy New Year in French).
