Stumbled upon this cozy izakaya on a quiet weekday night, and it turned out to be one of the most heartwarming dining experiences I’ve had in Japan. The couple running the place were incredibly kind. I ordered chicken gizzard, beef curry, and sake—everything was fresh and full of flavor.
Even though I was full before arriving, I wanted to take the rest to go. The owner seemed hesitant at first (possibly due to a cultural difference or policy), but kindly prepared a whole new set of curry and gizzard just for me—and even gifted me a bottle of wine! I was honestly shocked by their generosity.
