Sands — Restaurant in St. Peter

We're currently on holiday and in between all the touristy bits, we stopped for an impromptu lunch after seeing lots of good reviews online for Sands, and wow...it did not disappoint!

T'other half had the Sands Burger and I had the Beef Tacos, by far the yummiest food I've had in a long time. The portion of chips was very healthy and also really tasty. The hot chocolate was also absolutely banging, I could've eaten it all over again.

Both members of staff we came across were fantastic - the guys in the checkered shirt and yellow t-shirt were polite and friendly and happy to entertain us tourists, so thank you for humouring us when we sat at the furthest end of the outdoor seating!

Because I had difficulty understanding the person taking my order I was first abused by a member of the public saying I was being racist followed up by the support of the owner Who never witnessed the conversation being friends with the person who had already insulted me. I asked the chap did he find me offensive in anyway and he said no but the entourage of the owner and his friend and several other friends of theirs made my wife and my seven-year-old child and myself to leave the premises never been so disgusted with the behaviour of people who don’t know me from Adam calling me a racist is most upsetting. We stopped here after strolling along the beach, it wasn't a planned visit but we were ready for a drink and spotted the parasols from the beach.

We ordered the chicken sandwich and chips to share. The chicken sandwich was more like a chicken burger, pieces of breaded / battered chicken served on a burger bun, so not entirely what we expected but it was very tasty. The portion of chips was much bigger than expected and we couldn't finish them. We also tried a couple of the homemade sodas, which were excellent.
