September 2022: Suggestions to friends who are all planning to visit. - This map location leads to the old market and i didn't see the newly constructed market there. May be i need to search. You can see boats parked and opposite to that they will sell fishes. - You will see many varieties of fish, many people are cheating by putting fresh fish on top and old in bottom, especially with small fishes. - I bought one big fish from vendor who sells only big fishes, fish was awesome, fresh and good for fish fingers. - I went there by 6 AM, you need to go before that( 3 to 4.30pm) i guess to get more variety and sea fresh fishes(FIFO). - Fish cutting will be the hectic, very crowdy, especially with some of the cleaning ladies. They will ask you 100rs for small fish cleaning. Please be cautious and fix the rate before cleaning. Give big and medium fishes only to Gents cutters to minimize the wastage and get quality cutting. Better take it to your home and clean small fishes or if you have patience you can opt for it. - Car parking costs you 50rs. - Take plastic bucket + plastic covers as well(mandatory). You will get plastic covers there to buy though.

The best quality and the freshness of fish is awesome. Not a very clean area, so you can avoid bringing kids. Take your time and know the market price before you go. There is cheating, but very less compared to outside market. If you know your fish well enough, you can get the best. Even if you are buying in shops there, you will get fish 100-150 rupees lesser than market price. If you have good bargaining skills, much better. The pros are 1. High variety 2. Fresh, fresh and fresh 3. Low prices 4. High bargain 5. Live crabs 6. Fish auction Cons 1. Filthy area 2. Cheaters available at every corner 3. Crowd 4. Need time to go through the full length of kasimedu Better to go on Saturdays than Sundays, as you will have parking, lesser crowd. Sundays are like swarms of bees. You never know what is going on. Place is easily approchable from main road. But smaller roads and lanes makes bringing vehicles bit tedious. Beware of fish cleaners cutters they cheat you in and out of existence. But if you buy large fish their skill is unmatched.

You can get huge varieties of fishes at low price. Early morning Bulk auction time: 3 AM to 6 AM. People who buy in build quantities (like 5, 10 KGs or more) can visit during this time. Retail sales From 6AM to 10 AM on weekdays And 6AM to 12 noon on weekends. There are also auctions take place after 6 AM for small, medium and large quantities, that depends on the catch on that day. Parking is available for both 2 and 4 wheelers. Better to take sufficient cash as you may not get proper signals for Gpay if the place is crowded. Take carry bags with you, but there are also shops which sell bags of different sizes.

Nice place to buy sea foods, some sales man will cheat buyers. For example one salesman sold kilangan fish to buyer after that the customer went for cutting there that cutting person told, they cheated you . Instead of kilangan fish they sold Narayana thimbili fish like that. So please be aware of those cheater. With out knowledge don't go there to buy fish. Make sure you must have price estimate knowledge. Some salesman will increase based on your look. If you wear high class dress, for you they will tell some price. If you wear lungi they will tell some price.

HEAVEN FOR SEA FOOD LOVERS❤️ If you are good at bargaining skills this is the right place to use it. You can buy a 4 Kg fish for 2K from a seller on the other side you can get it for 1200 from another one. So, make sure you visit all the shops and check for the variety of fishes. I normally used to go once a month and I really love the experience of buying fish from Kasimedu which would be super fresh and it would be really exciting to see all the sea foods at one place. Must visit place if you are sea food lover😊
