We received a warm and friendly welcome at the boatyard from Florah who made sure we found a comfortable spot. We were the only ones around at the time which allowed us to have the space to ourselves as we enjoyed the view without any interruptions.
We were informed of the daily membership fee (KES 100/- per person at the time we visited) and given recommendations on what to have for our lunch. The drinks we selected (tamarind and lemon) were freshly prepared and the food was sumptuous.
The quantity of food was filling and a bit on the higher side when considering the price but it was worth it. For the main course and starter, we had the royal seafood platter and 2 beef samosas. For dessert we had 2 ice cream cups from Non Solo Gelato and a chocolate brownie with ice cream.
We took a long walk along the beach where we saw crabs, mangrove trees, a whole forest (may be a private piece of land as there is a gate restricting access), some boats of the locals, and had a great view of the Kilifi Bridge.
There is a dinghy service offered taking people from the boatyard to Old Ferry, and from the boatyard to Mnarani Beach. There are beautiful fish at the location of the jetty so before you get onto the dinghy, don't forget to look into the water.
The road to the boatyard from the bridge is bumpy and given that we were there during the rainy season, the potholes were quite large so be prepared to have a vehicle with high...

Read moreStay here sometimes with friends. The road to this place is an imposition as always. The parking lot between the boats is an experience, but only as long as not worked on the boats. Because then the color on your car can change. OK past the burning garbage mountain , where tires plastic and other interesting things are burned, afterwards, you try to avoid the stench of old fat, you have arrived. The food is like Mc Donalds but more expensive, sandy from the dust and haze of the transport ships loaded next to it. That's all I'll say about it. When it gets a little louder the tenant sits with his always friendly to other guests!!!!! with a few Wiskeys, wine or beer. Unprofessional!!! My friends often observe that you are probably your best guests. OK after the usual discussions about the bill , we go back to the car and free it from dirt or the falling parts of boats and all the sand who is around. On the positive side, the beer is cold and just as expensive as in a good...
