MEET and MEAT — Restaurant in Nairobi

We went at 4p.m. We ordered a chicken and pork platter but we were told that chicken ilikuwa imeisha. We checked around and saw everyone in the restaurant was having pork, which meant chicken ilikuwa imeisha kitambo and the restaurant didn't care to prepare more chicken. Only two kinds of meat in their menu (pork and chicken) and when one is over, they don't care to prepare it 🙄 The service was super slow. We waited for close to 15 minutes for someone to take our order after we got there. We saw another family complain to the waitress about the same. The meals are affordable I had mukimo and sweet & sour pork. The mukimo was super dry One of the waitresses was attending to clients with a stone-face until her colleague had to remind her to smile when...

Been there for Xmas and I have to say they try to do something different after cooking in charcoal the pork and chicken they stew the meat to ge it tender. I have to say they could improve a bit more about the tender meat only need to cook it longer but was tasty and seems fresh meat. Potatos are good and the fries onions and peppers they add on top on meat and potatoes are nice. Ugali is ok taste good. I recommend them the hygiene in the kitchen in the most important..the kitchen is open you see everything what is good and the best way for customers but they need to be more clean. I am chef and I do love the food the make but can improve something like hygiene. Rest is good. I will give 5 starts when they improve....

Last time I visited we ordered a platter, chicken, pork, mukimo, chips and soda. Our choice of soda was Fanta blackcurrant, the waiter said it was not available and suggested sprite which we obliged. Few minutes later the nest table was served with a cold blackcurrant 😬😬. After 30 minutes the food arrived, it was coold and dry 😭😭. When we asked the waiter why, she became defensive and accused us of taking too long to eat our food 😂😂😂. She later offered to warm it tho it wasn't not so welcoming. Later when she came to clear the table she said ironically "I know you guys haven't enjoyed today but next time come early we'll serve you better" 🙄🙄. That was my last visit. Chops and Hops across the road...
