Well, this was certainly a fancy restaurant and the price agrees also. I just had the tempura vegetables because I don’t actually like sushi, but my wife was there to try it. I think the food was prepared well but there is room for improvement on the communication. We would have liked our items to have been a bit more clearly explained because where I thought I was getting a normal sushi it turned out to be a different, sort of fancier one. Then when I got the roll, because we wanted a roll, the seaweed was inside not outside. And inside sushi is fine, it just wasn’t what I thought we were getting. I would suggest pictures for or alongside the menu. Some of the little extras on the side also could have done with some explaining like the wasabi. My wife just dived right in 😂 which ruined one for her. They did answer questions well when we asked. Now, I did see a little worm thing on my plate but I don’t know if it was on the plate to begin with or if it came from my hair, so I won’t fault a...

I don't eat Japanese food often, could count on my hand the number of times I have, but I truly enjoyed this place. Most of the dishes were brand new to me but absolutely delicious and offered a wide range of variety, almost overwhelming so, which is a good problem to have. My favorite was the veggie noodles. They were light, fresh, and full of flavour.
The restaurant is clean and well maintained. My only area of improvement would be the ambience. I found the decor too minimal, which made it feel like it was a one-off Japanese event, or something of the sort, and not a well-established permanent fixture.
Otherwise, they've certainly got the important stuff right: great service, great food, and an incredibly delicious...
Read moreI don't know why I thought sushi, in the extreme, humid heat of Mombasa, was a good idea. Maybe it was the high praising reviews. For someone who can get sushi for a reasonable price, better size and more "flare"+taste, at home, in europe, this was a huge let down. With all honesty, I could get street food that would fill me up and taste better for 1/10 of the price in Mombasa.
Nothing was bad or foul, the fish ok, but still, this wasen't it. I guess there's not much sushi in Kenya and this is a niche thing.
The fresh fruit plate was pretty pathetic/small, compared to other...
