During our last two weeks in Kyrgyzstan, my girlfriend and I stayed in Bishkek and had several breakfasts and lunches at Biscuit—enough to write a comprehensive review of the place.
To start, the food here is fantastic. Logically, it is better than almost any restaurant in Kyrgyzstan since any other town than Bishkek simply doesn’t do other foods than bare basics. Even within Bishkek’s rich food scene, Biscuit still excelled for us. The dishes are freshly made, good quality and most importantly, didn’t give us a stomach bug. Prices are high for Kyrgyzstan, but low in comparison to Europe or the US. Expect to spend between €10 and €15 per person for a full lunch + drinks.
The bakery treats are a nice bonus to the other food served here. We tried several, and like the carrot cake the most. The coffee here is also very tasty, and you can get a stamp-card to collect 6 stamps, which’ll give you a free coffee.
The staff is friendly although rather disoriented, and the way in which food arrives to the table is, as everywhere in Kyrgyzstan, chaotic. For example, a main dish might arrive before a starter, and if you’re with a group, you won’t get your dishes at the same time. Instead, one of you will have finished a dish by the time another one of you might only just receive it.
The café itself is clean, tidy, cozy and has well controlled air and temperature conditioning. The toilets are sitting toilets, and for a change from the rest of the country, they’re clean!
All in all, I give Biscuit 4 stars. If the staff can be more attentive, quicker and less disorganized, I’d...
Read moreThis place has the worst breakfast. No service. Only 2 waitresses were running around and I waited for almost 15 minutes for a menu then i went and asked for the menu by myself. I only ordered turkish breakfast which was nothing like a Turkish one. They brought croissant and the eggs were poorly cooked. At the end no waiter/ss to bring the bill. I will be having foreigners visiting bishkek soon therefore, I wanted to see if I could take them to biscuit but its a big NO. Never going to biscuit and won’t recommend...
Read moreThe food was great. The ambiance was great. It was rush hour and was super busy. The atmosphere was great, the service they provided was great. They were super polite and accommodating. The food price was slightly higher than Normal coffee places. But the portion size was slightly less than usual or we were too hungry. The ramen was underwhelming tbh and so was the kebabs with rice.
I think the breakfast menu was way better than their main menu.
. They have a great wine and bakery collection to...
