Located not far away from main drag in Luang Prabang is this restaurant. If you explore inside the place you will realise that the main seating area is in a kind of tree house covered around by thick dense jungle. We came here at lunch time and had somthing called Yam Gai which is the equivalent to chicken strips in a local salad with chopped fresh tomatoes, challots, lemongrass and like a sweet sauce. It was bloody lovely! However after 10 mouthfuls, I came to the understanding that the chef had put in many Chilli's with seeds 🌶️🤪 I had to send away to be remade as I have a severe reaction to chilli even though I love the taste. Eventually they turned up with a replacement of the same dish without the heat! Yet again it was delicious and would recommend to anyone. No hardship about the mix-up, these things happen. We explored this place again in the evening but stuck to Western style food which was equally good but less risking heatwise for traveling purposes. With great scenery and much choice of food, I would definitely go back if I came to Luang Prabang again. Warning: Mosquito Haven so use repellent!

Really enjoyed the spring rolls here. You can actually see all the ingredients, it's not mystery mush. This is what I would like to expect from a restaurant bit unfortunately, more often than not, I encounter mush! Larb had good flavour but seemed to be missing the toasted rice powder! Asked for Lao spicy but unfortunately was a little toned down. Would be nice to be taken seriously but I do understand why this doesn't happen.

Great finding :D It was the easiest place so far to accommodate my food intolerances and their manager was very friendly helping get me a nice gluten-free meal at the same time that she also explained to us a bit more about Laos culture. Ambiance is beautiful! Make sure to go inside and enjoy the nature while having a delicious Laotian food.

Bugs in the food

Due to response I need to clarify - a fly absolutely did not land in my food. I'm not going to return some soup because something fell in. There were actually at least 5 small green flies in the soup which I only found after they eventually started floating to the top/sticking to the noodles. I figured that maybe they just flew in while it was being served so I just asked for a replacement bowl. After a while through eating the 2nd one, I found more, so clearly there were some ingredients being put in that had a ton of bugs in them.

I didn't want to kick up more of a fuss so we just...

Be careful when paying and ordering. They’ll say they take USD, they have an entire page of their menu dedicated to it. When paying with USD they offered pretty terrible conversion rate. Would be much much better off walking the block down the street and converting currency beforehand. More importantly, when I mentioned I had a food allergy they still served me dish with egg. Server offered a weak apology and did nothing to fix the situation. Couldn’t eat it but still was charged. Very disappointing considering their prices are not inexpensive. Definitely would...
