Kalnakrogs — Restaurant in Ķekava

I was deciding between a 3 and a 2, but in the end 3 seemed more fitting. The place is nothing extraordinary, and actually a bit sub-par. Interior quite is nice, but there is no ventilation whatsoever. We were there in the middle of May when temperature outside was about 18°C, and it was a bit too hot and difficult to breathe inside, which is quite surprising given the amount of space inside. The staff takes a really long time to clean the tables after people have finished their meals, even though there were not so many visitors. Men's bathroom was not especially tidy and the bin was overfilled with paper.

The meals, while quite big, seem to be somewhat bland and overstewed, and sometimes what you think you are ordering won't be that thing. I've ordered a cheese-covered chicken fillet, and what I saw on the plate was nothing like that. If you are ordering something that is labelled as spicy, be warned that it might be much spicier than you thought it would be.

I did not expect much from this place, but boy.. I was in for a suprise!

Bistro was terrible. No service.. No prices displayed anywhere.. Did not ask for salad. But they put some on the dish anyway. Thought it's just what they do! Asked for Chicken Fillet. Meat was cold. Fries Cold and does not taste for anything. Bendable cutlery and cheapest dishes. The place is dirty

At the end we looked at the receipt and tried to figure out the prices. Went to see the menu to later find out some price differences but most of the bistro stuff is not mentioned there. (Chicken fillet turned to be 5,90EUR. Only meat!) Extremely slow service. Were was no soup. We have ordered 5 portious of food but after 2nd reminder and 1+ hour wait received only 4 without some ingredients. Waitress said what we ordered 4 dishes and this is our fault. Like in Soviet Union. On top of that our friends from next table ordered the same dishes and got 30 minutes earlier than us. How cool is that? Worst experience in Latvia...
