I have been to Kļava every time I have visited Limbazi and I can honestly say it never fails to disappoint!

The menu is varied and food is freshly prepared each day. When it is brought over by the friendly and professional staff it arrives well presented, in good time and in generous portions.

There is a delicious mix of traditional Latvian cuisine and international dishes - try the ķiploku grauzdiņi (fried garlic bread) for a starter with a pint of Mežpils.

It's always busy but the staff are never flustered and are always happy to help, with a smile on their faces, in a clean and modern setting.

Using locally sourced produce from around the village, the food is full of flavour and would not be out of place in any modern Eurpoean city.

Vakar apmeklējām šo restorānu. Pirmais iespaids bija maldinoši labs – ēka no ārpuses un interjers izskatās glīts, taču jau pēc dažām minūtēm kļuva skaidrs, ka iestādes koncepts nav pārdomāts. Galdu izkārtojums ir haotisks, bez jebkāda dizaina vai loģikas. Īpaši liels mīnuss – divas ieejas un izejas, kas tikai sačakarē telpas plānojumu un vēl vairāk pasliktina kopējo iespaidu. Redzams, ka dizaina gaumes trūkst pilnībā, par viesu komfortu nav padomāts.

Ēdienu kvalitāte diemžēl ir kritiska. Picas bija gatavotas ļoti slikti – ne estētikas, ne kvalitātes, tikai kaut kas, ko var apēst bada dēļ. Ja cilvēks pasūta šādu “brīnumu” un domā, ka tā ir laba pica, tad droši var teikt, ka viņš nekad nav ēdis patiesi kvalitatīvu picu. Ja restorāns nespēj nodrošināt pieņemamu picu – vienu no vienkāršākajiem ēdieniem ēdināšanas nozarē –, tas nozīmē, ka virtuvē trūkst profesionālisma un elementāru prasmju. Tas rada nopietnas šaubas par visu pārējo ēdienkarti un parāda, ka virtuve neatbilst pat minimālām kvalitātes prasībām.

Vienīgais pozitīvais aspekts bija apkalpošana – viesmīle bija profesionāla un centās darīt savu darbu labi. Tomēr pat laba apkalpošana nespēj kompensēt paviršu vadību un vāju virtuvi.

Restorāns “Kļava” acīmredzami turas tikai tāpēc, ka daļa vietējo klientu nav pieredzējuši augstāka līmeņa ēdināšanas standartus. Vadītājam būtu nopietni jāizvērtē gan interjera risinājumi, gan virtuves darbs, citādi runāt par kvalitatīvu restorānu šeit nav pamata. Turklāt rodas nopietnas aizdomas, ka restorāna relatīvi labais reitings internetā ir mākslīgi uzpūsts – caur paziņām, draugiem vai citiem ieinteresētiem cilvēkiem.

Otrreiz šeit neatgriezīšos un arī citiem neiesaku. Ja es vakar būtu viens pats bez ģimenes, es noteikti personīgi izklāstītu visu...
