Cafe del Mar Riga — Restaurant in Riga

I don't understand how this place has such above average rating. Visiting it has been absolute money and hunger waste. You can count the number of available meals on one hand fingers, the portions, e.g. for shashlik, are kid sized for the amount of money paid and the food itself is tragic. 5 small pieces of chicken shashlik, a small sized RAW tortilla and a bunch of grass, SERIOUSLY? Not even potatoes or rice. Not to mention the burger which seemed appealing at first but turned out to be a sponge full terrible sauces. The patty? Far from beef taste, more like the worst quality mince with zero proper taste. Once again, absolute joke, would rather go a few steps further down the city to eat something proper.

It looked so promising from the beginning and we thought we will have a nice evening in this place, but unfortunately we got very bad experience. Waiter was long time not paying any attention to our table. We were also waiting our meal almost one hour. The waiter was unpleasant and impolite (not speaking about his black nails and dirty outlook). The tuna salad for EUR 13 was not fresh and vegetables sour. When we told that to our waiter, he just replied that all other guests are eating them and all is fine. We kindly asked the manager if our waiter can be replaced. After long time she come back with the same person and said that this is our waiter and that's it. We definately do not recommend this place! It is too much overpriced. Went there last Sunday, weather was good, so understandably a lot of people was on the seaside and wanted to have some food. Waitress was not kind at all, i understand that there is a lot of people, but we tried to make it easier for her. Our only question was if two meals come with fresh onions, since two people are allergic. She said that she can ask to make it without, but she cannot guarantee. We were open to take other meal, if those ones were not possible to make without onions, since we understand that it was busy, and indeed something can be mixed up, but waitress seemed annoyed with that. Overall, price-quality wise food is not worth the money. The quality of food and service unfortunately got down. I hope they will improve, since location...
