Vilavi — Restaurant in Riga

I first went with some 3 other friends and couple boys to check the place out prior to booking for a bigger community gathering. We all ordered shaslik and kebab plus beers. Enjoyed the food and the service was good. Thankfully one of the waitresses speaks English to help matters. Such was my good impression of the place, 2 days later i re visited again with my wife and again left fully satisfied. Food was tasty and large enough portions. Prices were very good also. The service was terrible, we asked for pasta and their response was either get grilled food or wait for an hour. We got chicken wings made on grill and three pastas and potatoe pancakes. We did wait indeed more than an hour and what we got was nothing but disgrace. The portions of pastas were so little, the chicken wings were burned with charcoal, and the pancakes were hard as rock. So what I understand from this is: you either wait one hour for pasta (in an almost empty restaurant) or you get burned food. When we complained to the waitress about these thing - she did not even apologize or showed any regret - it looked like she couldn’t care any less...

Nice place. Food was good. Took the daily lunch offer for 4 euro and must say it is very good what you get for that money. Daily offer varies and there is more than one dish to choose from.
