I want to warn everyone about the horrible sushi here.
Particularly: ROSUTO SAKE HOT ROLL. The menu says (in this order): rice, fried salmon, cream cheese, orange caviar, spicy sauce, nori leaf. My question is: where is the salmon? We called the waiter, and the reply was: “Ah yeah, you are not the first one asking about it, unfortunately the menu is written a bit in the wrong order…” Basically the sushi is just rice with tons of cream cheese. No salmon, just some kind of cheesy-mayo mix on top. That’s it. Ridiculous. Just call it “tons of cream cheese roll” and don’t mislead people. And even the waiter himself admitted that many people complain about this roll, so why doesn’t management update the menu? Or at least warn people before ordering? Also, reading some of the management’s replies to reviews here… rude and unprofessional.
Another question mark: ROSUTO HOSO MAKI. This is not fried salmon. This is just some sad leftovers of what couldn’t be used for anything else. Honestly, embarrassing dish as well.
On top of that, the sushi were totally falling apart, impossible to eat properly. And soy sauce? Clearly dissolved with much water and just poured into Kikkoman bottles At that point, just a glass of water would work..
The only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1 is because the Ebi Hot Roll was okay, and the tea was tasty. Although, the little teapot (which was pretty by the way) was leaking everywhere while pouring.
And yes, we DID tell the waiter about our disappointment with the so-called “fried salmon” rolls. He admitted this isn’t the first time he’s heard the complaint. Because apparently this is exactly what they sell. I even feel sad for the employees that they need to deal with these questions just because of management trying to save costs. By the way, the service was fine, the guys are trying their best.
So, here’s my advice: maybe other dishes here are fine, but sushi is definitely not their strong side. Save your money (and your stomach) and eat sushi...
Read moreNice place for local foodies, we had cold beet’s soup , “graudzini”- national dried bread with garlic- amazing taste, fish and chips, as well as soup- gulyash was so tasteful that my brother told us that he doesn’t need a main dish , because his soup was so good- full of spices and huge amount of soft pieces of veal. Latkes with salmon , just best of the best! From a kids menu , my son ordered chicken nuggets with french fries, it’s came out smelling so good that we all attempted to try, but he wouldn’t share. Service was not as great as food though , our server looked like she doesn’t understand what we wanted. ( we tried Russian, English and Latvian languages). A few pieces of nuggets fell on a table while food was delivered, and servers response was : I am so sorry! And left…. No silver wear was brought to the table, I needed to get up and ask at the bar myself. Then it took forever to get check and box to go.. To make a story short, food is amazing, but service needs improvement. But still great place to try not only national foods but also sushi and large selection of...
Read moreAlmost empty restaurant when we arriwed at sunday 14.00. Nice place to eat in good weather as most of the restaurant is under a tent roof and there where also a few tables outside. Visited in the beginning of may when the temperature was over 20 degrees and then it was a nice shady place to siy down. The childrens food arrived qyickly and the drinks too. Childrens food basic and ok, chicken nuggets from the shop but the meat balls where made in the restaurant. Big portions for children. I ordered goats cheese with weggies, but I have to say there were some problems with that. The cheese was not grilled properly and had turned in to a porridge that they had scraped of the weggies and put in parcement paper to keep it from escaping the plate. Stick to the meat dishes! The restaurant soon filled up and it was obvious they were understaffed, tables waited to order and nobody cleared the tables. Paid at the cashier so we could finally leave. Staff was young and probably were pretty stressed, they spoke english but did...
