There are at least 2 not to be missed sites in Anjar, viz., UNESCO protected Anjar Citadel and then this restaurant, it's a must visit while here, a little walkable distance from each other. The food is just amazing, a blend of pure Lebanese with a touch of Armenian, a perfect combo. The restaurant itself is more like an Industry food factory, with so many tables and so much space. Nevertheless, it's very well organized and timely delivered. The staff and the manager are so welcoming and friendly. And the icing on the case are the prices, half of what you would generally pay in other big cities in Lebanon. Try the Tawouk with bread, a specialty here

Al Shams Restaurant in Anjar is not just a restaurant, it’s an empire! Offering delicious Lebanese food with a wide variety of mezza, set menus, sushi, and fish, it suits every taste. The open-air spaces are beautifully cooled and divided by green areas, making it comfortable even in Anjar’s hot climate. Families will love the playgrounds, arcade games, bowling, ATV and camel rides, and even magicians entertaining at the tables. With alcohol and hookah also available, it’s the perfect spot for both fun and relaxation. Highly recommended for a family lunch—visit midweek to avoid the crowds!

There are a large number of people and the spaces are very wide. There is more than one place and each corner has a special ambiance. The place is beautiful and the vibes are great ! The restaurant offers a wide variety of cuisines (Lebanese, Fast food, Italian, Japanese). The service was great and fast, despite the large request, but everything was great. The bill was fair relative to the quality and food served (350$ for table of 10 adults and 4 children) The list of Mezzas they offer is truly unique and the taste is indescribable I loved it and recommend it to everyone!

Worst Service Ever I made a reservation at Al Shams Restaurant on the 15th of July 2023 at 6:00 PM; We arrived on time and surprisingly the man responsible for the area where we made the reservation (Garden and Camber) was very confused and made us turn all the area holding a birthday cake in our hands till the end after 30 minutes of walking forward and backward in the restaurant he found us a table at one of the corners, even though during reservation we asked for a table next to the waterfall but they did not reserve it; The service on the table was one of the worst ever seen, we were doing the work for them, we removed the dirty dishes that they were not taking it away, we were filling drinks that they were supposed to fill, we were removing the garbage from the table as the table was full of tissues and food residues and they were not taking it away; At the birthday cake cutting and while we needed a Birthday Song the man responsible of the table brought a speaker with empty batteries, we asked for another speaker as we reserved at this restaurant especially for this special occasion but he told us he can't provide it, from the whole restaurant he didn’t search for a speaker to put a Happy Birthday Song; The worst of all was in the offered fruits and sweets, there were less varieties on our table than the ones offered to other tables, also they were offering free ice cream for all tables but on our table and the table next to us we did not get any, even though we asked for it several times and the waiter was telling us that he will bring it but he did not; When we asked for the receipt, it contained additional items that we did not order and the most surprising issue that we got on the receipt was "Offered free ice cream" the one that we did not get, so we asked the waiter to correct the receipt and remove the free ice cream as he did not offer it to us; he corrected the added items on the receipt but he did not remove the "Offered free ice cream"; I have visited several restaurants on many occasions and this one was the worst experience I have faced I advise you not to go there and search for a better restaurant where you can have better...

As always, still one of the best restaurants in Lebanon, and I must say that the experience was truly delightful.

The menu features a wide variety of Lebanese dishes, ranging from traditional mezza to grilled meat and seafood dishes. I tried a few of their signature dishes, including fattoush, raw meat board, and "stuffed intestines" (fwerigh), and all of them were absolutely delicious. The food was served hot and fresh, and the flavors were spot on.

Although the restaurant recently changed their prices to USD, the prices are still very reasonable, and I felt that I was getting great value for my money. It's definitely worth the price for the quality of the food and service.

The only downside to my dining experience was the noise level in the restaurant. It was quite noisy and the chatter of other diners made it a bit difficult to enjoy my meal in peace. I think adding some music in the background would be a great way to tune out the noise and create a more relaxed ambiance. Also, I didn't ask so I'm not sure if there is one, but you might want to ask for a smoke-free zone table because in the closed area where we sat, it was all smelly and foggy from all the chichas.

Overall, I would highly recommend this Lebanese restaurant to anyone who is looking for great food and a lovely dining experience. The prices are affordable, the service is excellent, and the food is outstanding. Just be prepared for a bit of...

I frequent Shams Restaurant religiously, as it’s arguably the best dining experience in Lebanon. The food is excellent, arriving at just the right time from when you order. They kick things off with appetizers, nuts, and seeds, followed by hummus and baba ganoush to whet your appetite. The main courses of meat or chicken are typically served last, ensuring they’re warm and ready to be savored.

Usually, the restaurant maintains a high standard of quality and service, but my last visit was a colossal disappointment.

We arrived as a large group, and our server seemed to give up on seating us properly. Despite our request for a decent table with a good view and some privacy, he half-heartedly checked and then abandoned the effort.

To add to the frustration, our main courses of chicken and beef were served first and were barely warm, a stark deviation from their usual sequence. When we voiced our concerns about the temperature, the server brushed us off, claiming it was fresh off the grill. Following that, the fries were bitter, the Pepsi was flat, and the table became overcrowded with no effort from the staff to clear it. It was a miserable dining experience.

I’m not deducting too many stars because this is an outlier in my many visits here. However, I’ve noticed that when the restaurant is busy, the quality nosedives, making the food bland and the experience subpar. This seriously impacts the enjoyment...
