In the frame of the Lebanese hospitality, we enjoyed dinner by the sea in Amchit. Chez Zakhia was on top of the recommended spots and we did not regret the choice.
The location is appealing: just by the sea a huge restaurant spread over two floors: indoor and outdoor where you can almost dip your toes in the emerald sea.
With enchanting voices of the waves clashing and the sky reflecting over the water shadowing the playful tiny fish we sat and enjoyed our dinner served by amazing staff.
A Lebanese mezze spread to satisfy the eyes and the stomach:
Rich sea food salad that could be a meal on its own, as citrusy as you like it
Creamy moutabbal and hummus
Shnaklish with onions, tomatoes and parsley to mix and indulge
Stuffed vines leaves like mom cooks them
Tajin was tasty but would have preferred more fish in it, I am greedy!
Shrimps à la provencale cooked to perfection
Sabbidej melting in your mouth as tender as ever
Fried fish rolls and fish kibbe: rich in flavors and crunchy
Batata harra: my least favorite as it was too oily
Ending the meal with both fried and grilled catch of the day fish both enjoyable
Lebanese hospitality in such renowned restaurants goes on to the offering of seasonal fruits and traditional desserts to end the meal with a huge smile.
It is a must try! Come and enjoy a very relaxing eve savoring sea food and other tasty...
Read moreThis unfortunate Negative review is just for the owner so they know what is going on in their business.
Booked a table for 5 on Sunday 7 april, when we arrived at 13.45 they gave us a table inside.
I asked if there was a possibility to sit outside, they said no however there was over 10 table empty outside. With few tables that appears that people just left.
Upon informing the waiter, he told me he will ask the manager. I heard the moudir saying in a aggressive tone, I said no once how many times I need to say it .
That was really unacceptable, and I said I won't be staying here with an attitude like that. I thanked the sweet waiter that was very friendly and apologetic for the behaviour of the manager and then was offered a table outside..
I thanked the nice waiters, and I declined, as this is not what I want to enjoy a Sunday after noon with my Family that I haven't seen in month.
Please address this with the right people, it's a shame this happened, as I feel the level of professionalism and empathy that the sweet waiter showed toward us was very genuine, unlike the manager and this is what we like to see as an improvement.
Apologies for the negative review, but I feel that the owners need to address this and work on better...
Read moreI recently dined at Chez Zakhia, and unfortunately, it was a truly awful experience. The food was terrible, and to make matters worse, we got food poisoning afterward. The hygiene standards at this restaurant are non-existent.
The waiter who served us had extremely long and dirty nails, which immediately raised concerns about the overall cleanliness of the place. This concern was further validated when I found a rotten lemon in my plate of fish. The fish itself was bad, lacking freshness and flavor, making it an unpalatable dish. It was absolutely disgusting, and to add insult to injury, the staff didn’t even apologize for this unacceptable oversight.
Additionally, the fattoush salad we ordered looked disgusting and was not fresh at all. It was clear that the ingredients were far from being fresh, making the dish unappetizing and unappealing.
Overall, the experience was revolting, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this place. It’s not worth the risk to your health or the disappointment...
