When my cousin used to tell me about how much she LOVES Manuella, and how frequently they invited many of those who used to visit them from abroad, I used to think that maybe and I day maybe she is exaggerating.
And due to its location in Jounieh, I did not think it had anything special worth the trip, but I was sooooo wrong and I regret it! Nani, I am sorry :P.
We were looking forward watching the fireworks show in the frame of the launch of Jounieh International Festival this year. I was calling every single restaurant on the bay to only be deceived by "we are fully booked", and then I remembered Manuella and could not thank my memory enough!
First the call: a very nice, polite and professional host answers the phone and ensures me to get the best place for the eve.
The drive was hectic, too much traffic on the way because everybody was heading for the same spot! But the experience was worth it!
We were pleasantly welcomed and escorted to our table. Neat and wide areas, tables are set in a way to respect the privacy yet in a very friendly way. I loved the decoration that reminded me of the restaurant in Al berdawni Zahle! Fresh and colorful!
A versatile menu that has everything to please all tastes! And the servers are so helpful and sweet, they make sure you are enjoying your experience and you bet we did.
The food: generous portions for very affordable prices and homey taste; we had:
Hommos: creamy and made with real chickpeas!
Tabbouli: I am not a big fan but according to my friend it is soooo tasty, and very well presented!
Batata harra: never have I tasted it made that way: wow very impressed: it comes crunchy not sogging with oil and by the end of the bite you feel the kick of spiciness and what makes it special the citrusy sauce that was added and that made all the difference!
Calamari a la provencale: made as per my request! with the same sauce used for the batata harra, perfectly cooked and seasoned, I loved it!
And grilled cheese rkakat, crunchy and light!
And to end the feast, after the servers cleared our table, the generosity of Manuella is unbeatable, they spread the table with seasonal and exotic fruits, syrups served over crushed ice and jams of all kinds!
In between, we got to enjoy the fireworks with a very good view! I would definitely come back and advise you all to try this...
Read moreOn a Sunday, our family dined at Manuella restaurant, renowned for its seafood offerings but also featuring BBQ and raw meat selections. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and the owner, and they ensured we had a pleasant seat with a beachfront view. This restaurant is conveniently situated on the main road in Jounieh, though its interior is somewhat dated and could benefit from modernization.
The menu boasted a straightforward Lebanese food selection along with a diverse range of fish dishes. While the food arrived promptly and was both delicious and unique by its generosity, it didn't particularly stand out in terms of exceptional flavor.
The service was impeccable, marked by professionalism and efficiency. The attentive waitstaff consistently ensured our glasses were filled and our culinary needs were met.
For our party of six adults, we ordered a substantial meal that included 6 AJAJ fish (2 kgs), 2 servings of hummus, 1 tabouleh, 1 Fattoush, pastries, octopus provincial, calamari, and although we had a desire for the Bizri fish, it regrettably wasn't available that day. We complemented our meal with Arak.
Post-meal, the restaurant pleasantly offered us complimentary fruits, accompanied by coffee and Turkish sweets.
The final bill tallied up to $211, translating to around $35 per person, which we found to be a reasonable and fair price for the experience.

Read moreIt is an upscale place located near the beach. Place is very big, at time of visit it was very crowded but there is always a vacant table to sit. Staff was friendly, like 90% were always smiling, and the remaining was made. At the time of the visit, we have outdoor seating, but there is no view. Service was super fast. There was not much time of wait after the order was made. Hummus: was of good portion and was well prepared. Tabbouleh: was missing tomato and onion. Fattouch: was ok. Vegetables were not cut, just big pieces of tomato and herbes none was cut, just the entire herbs were added. Fattouch lacks pomegranate sauce. Octopus provincial: Octopus is not fresh. It was like a gum. Saunce was ok. Tajjen samak: was perfectly made despite having too much olive oil on the plate. Frensh fries: came fried like multiple times, and they had no taste. Bisry: Fish came well fried despite having excess of flower on them. Taratour was delicious. Grilled chiken was served very fast in no time, came well done, and marinated sauce was simple yet good.
After we ate, fruits were served, and coffee. Which something we miss a lot in the lebanese restaurants latley.
Place have kids area for kids to play.
Place is on the expensive side. Portions are big compared to the price. I would recommend this place, but be careful where you...
